CASSIDY OTT

Cassidy Ott is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in acrylic painting and sculpture.

Through self portraiture, she rejects the notion that a woman must cover up or hide her body in order to garner ethical and intellectual respect. Her studies in psychology and neuroscience bolster the intersection of the personal and the political within her practice, allowing her to relate universal aspects of the human condition to deeply personal self expression. As a passionate advocate for the imperative right to bodily autonomy, Ott utilizes themes of feminism, nature, mortality, divinity, addiction, medicine, and free will in her artwork to examine how our identity becomes politicized.
